Enter your date of birth and get your exact age instantly — years, months, days, total time lived, and how long until your next birthday.
A "year" here means a full calendar year since your birthday, not 365 days. So if you were born on March 10, 2000, you turn 24 on March 10, 2024 — even though that span contains six leap days. The calculator first counts whole years, then whole months past your last birthday, then the remaining days. Leap years are handled automatically because the math walks the real calendar instead of multiplying by averages.
Most everyday situations only need your age in years, but exact age in years-months-days comes up more than you'd think: pediatric dosing charts, school enrollment cutoffs, insurance applications, retirement eligibility, and "how old is the baby" in months for parents of newborns. This page gives you the precise breakdown so you don't have to count on your fingers.
Yes. Your birthdate never leaves your device — the calculation happens entirely in your browser, and nothing is sent to a server or stored anywhere. Refreshing the page clears it.
Say you were born on May 5, 1990, and today is May 20, 2026. Your most recent birthday was May 5, 2026, when you turned 36. No whole months have passed since that birthday, and May 20 falls 15 days after May 5 — so your exact age is 36 years, 0 months, 15 days. The totals under the result tell the same story a different way: those 36 years contain nine leap days, so by May 20 you have been alive for 13,164 days in all.
Some months don't contain your birth date. If you were born on January 31, there is no February 31 — so each February, your monthly milestone lands on February 28, the last day of the month, and any extra days are counted from there. Leap-day birthdays follow the same rule: someone born on February 29, 2000 has an exact age of 26 years, 0 months, 0 days on February 28, 2026, because 2026 has no February 29. This only shapes how the years-months-days breakdown is counted — how old you are in years is never in doubt.
Why isn't my age in days just my age in years times 365? Because roughly one year in four is a leap year with an extra day, February 29. A 36-year-old has typically lived through nine of them, and this calculator counts every single one rather than averaging them away.
Can I work out someone else's age? Yes — enter any birthdate: a child's, a parent's, a grandparent's, even a historical figure's. You get the same exact breakdown, and nothing you type leaves your browser.
